22nd Sept 2009

20 Entries, 4 Tournaments, 22 Players, £975 Prize Fund,
Uli Koch wins Jackpot, Doubles 2 kicks off.

This was not a full blown Tournament event - it was billed as a workshop, the Launch of The 2nd Bg in London Doubles Tournament and some Tournaments for those that wished them.

We had 1 workshoppee with us so Sean Williams sat down with Annette to go through some basics. Thanx Sean.

We did a Camden Auction at 7.00pm which resulted in 8 players playing for £100 and 4 players at £25 all in 7 pointers. I let Round 1 of these play then at 8.30pm we moved to the Calcutta Auction for the Doubles Tournament. This was conducted by Sean (whom I had plied with a glass of red wine to limber him up.)

Sean, with very few bidding, raised a very good £319 in the Calcutta, the Draw of 17 Pairings was made and I kicked out more Mini-Jackpots for those still wishing more play on this evening. Mini-Jackpot 3 was an Optional Pool Entry Tournament which was won by Annette. Mourad win M-J2, Simon M. won M-J1 and Uli Koch won Tournament 1.

Summary:
A disappointing turnout of workshopees though in truth I had missed updating the workshop page letting people know it was happening so let me take the blame for that.

The Doubles is up and running and due to complete
on the afternoon of Tuesday 29th December before we host
The Bg in London End of Year / Start of Year party that evening
in The Lockside Lounge
when I intend to announce the schedule of Bg in London in 2010.
