18th March 2008
72 Entries, 6 Tournaments, 33 Players, £886 Prize Fund,
Raj Jansari wins Jackpot. |
|
Just over 30 players this week and a smaller Prize Fund than usual
though T1’s was healthy.
Also included this week was the continuation of our British Open
Qualifier. All 32 seats have now been sold and we are now down to
just 5 names still in. 1 2nd Round player didn’t turn up this
evening and hence timed out. Those still standing are: Shino,
Andreas Vrhovsek, Roxanna, Nicky Check and Graham Read. The
Tournament will complete on Monday 1st April at Bg in Camden.
Yet again I have to report that Raj Jansari won T1. This makes 4
wins in 2 months! Peter Hartley recorded his first Bg in London
win in T2 and a happy man he is too. He’s also a finalist in the
annual RAC Tournament – good luck in that too Peter. Vicki Ondis
won T3 and having done so left to check on her ailing dog who has
been non too well recently. Tariq Siddiqi got some practice in for
The Nordic Open by winning T4.
Only one T.D. decision for me to rule upon this week and that
concerned a premature roll. This has been a subject of much debate
of late in the U.S. and the Biba rules have been updated recently.
Now that the dust has settled and others have decided upon the new
rules Bg in London rules will be amended so that they are in line
with others shortly.
There will NOT be a Bg in the City on Monday 24th March due to it
being Easter Monday. The next Bg in London event will be on
Tuesday 1st April in Camden followed by a Bg in The City on Monday
7th April.
Meanwhile there are a good number of Bg in London players playing
in The Nordic Open over the Easter weekend. We’ll follow their
progress or otherwise via reports on this site.
