Answer:
On 3-ply, Snowie makes this a very marginal take, but on a rollout
a small pass. I am always interested in positions that Snowie gets
wrong, albeit here not so drastically.
Black has all 2,s and 5,s to hit, which is 20 shots, plus 4-1 and
6-4, which is 24 shots in total. There is a possibility of hitting
the second man - Snowie reckons black wins 20.6% gammons.
I was playing black against Malcolm Robertson. The previous go,
his blot on his own 4 point had been on his 12 point anchored with
the other blot, and he rolled his worst number 5-3, exposing both
blots. Instinctively, I cubed, I remember thinking that it was a
pass; I knew Malcolm would take. I missed, he rolled 3-3, playing
12/3, 4/1. I rolled 4-4, and he recubed which I had to pass. My
hard luck story!
Double/pass: 7 points
Double/take: 3 point
