Mind Sports Olympiad Cambridge 2010 Report
by Danny Gallagher

11 players attended this year and played in 9, 7, 5, and 3 point matches.

Six players came up early for a low stakes Chouette which was played in the
beautiful surroundings of the Fort St George on The river Cam. Thoroughly
enjoyed by all with Ritchie Newbold emerging as the clear winner over the
evening.

Play started at midday Sunday in Trinity College.
I have run this event for the last four years and have always been happy
with in the fun relaxed spirit of The Cambridge MSO. One player was running
late and was allowed to play by his opponent even though penalty points
could have been awarded which would have disqualified him his opponent
Larry Bennett was happy to play without them. Thanks Larry for being such a
good sport.

Thanks to all players for attending and especially to Chris Purchase for
rounding up all the St Albans Crew and Neil Foston for letting a couple of
the Croydon Backgammon Club Players stay at his for the evening.

Next year the tournament will be held on the Bank holiday Saturday 30th
April with a Chouette on the Friday evening before again at the Fort St
George from 7pm.
