PartoucheGammon have made great strides in promoting backgammon in Europe in the last year or two and numbers attending their events have been increasing dramatically. They ran and sponsored the WSOB UK Masters in November 2007, The Nordic Open 2008 and have a program of 8 events in France this year. They are also working closely with WSOB to bring backgammon onto television. The Cannes Riviera and Nations Cup is their flagship event and is held the week after the World Championships in nearby Monte Carlo. Well over 100 players are expected in Cannes. It's going to be top draw backgammon - the best European players will be there as will a number of Americans. Clock play rules will apply. Lots of players means lots of staff and I'm thrilled to be able to announce that I, Mike Main of Backgammon in London, have been asked to join The Partouche Gammon Tour Team to help run the week long event. It would be great to have a large British presence - already there are a number of Brits going - but more are welcome - the list of those Brits we think are going are listed on a following page.
