SWISS TOURNAMENT Sunday daytime in The Salt Quay. MAXIMUM 32 PLAYERS (Please pre-register) (Last updated: 10/11/2011) N.B. Names are not added here until payment is received. N.B. THIS TOURNAMENT IS EXPECTED TO BE THE FIRST EVENT FULLY PRE-BOOKED. IF YOU WANT IN, GET IN QUICK! THERE WILL PROBABLY BE A SECOND SWISS FOR THOSE THAT MISS OUT ON SWISS 1 Swiss is a classic tournament format; basically winners play winners and losers play losers. It's 5 Rounds of 5 pointers on clocks. This year we will play 2 Rounds, then break for lunch and then play Rounds 3 - 5. Incentive is given to players to play on via the Optional Pool of £10; The Winner (who will win 5 out of 5) will take 33% of the Pool, The upwards of 5 Players that win 4 out of 5 will share another 33% of the Pool, the upwards of 10 Players that win 3 out of 5 will share the remaining 33% of the Pool. Any player not in the Pool will of course not share any proceeds of the Pool. Should the Winner not have entered to Pool then the players that win 2 out of 5 will share 33% of the Pool. ANY PLAYER THAT DOES NOT COMPLETE ALL 5 MATCHES WILL FORFEIT HIS/HER RIGHT TO A SHARE OF THE POOL PRIZE FUND PAYOUT AND PRIZES. There will be a trophy for the Winner, and medals for those that win 4 out of 5. Champ o Champ points will be awarded at the rate of 3 C'o'C points per win. Clock play rules will still apply: Time allowances will be generous: 15 seconds per move and a time bank of 12.5 minutes. As such nobody should time out but players will have a chance to put clock play into practice ands Clock Play Rules will have been used in the Doubles Tournament the previous evening. PLEASE BE IN THE SALT QUAY BY 10.45 a.m. GROUP AUCTION AT 11.00 a.m. MAIN OPTIONAL POOL WILL CLOSE AT 11.00 DRAW WILL BE AT 11.15 LATE PLAYERS WILL BE FINED AT A RATE OF 1 POINT PER 10 MINUTES OR SUBSTITUTED AT 11.30 O'CLOCK BY RESERVES IF THERE ARE SOME.
