Mike Main (aka MikeMadMonk) has run Backpacker Backgammon since 1999.
It was designed to sell travel backgammon sets to the gap year students
on their tours around the world.

Mike slowly moved into Tournament Direction;
Tric Trac Tournos were invented and run online via Funcom and Playmaker
(both since have stopped their operations,)
Live Tric Trac Tournos were added and run from Ryan's Bar
in Stoke Newington, London for a couple of years and
a few Doubles Tournaments were run from The Fox Reformed also in Stoke Newington.

The annual Backgammon Live in London was started in 2000
and still runs every year on the second weekend in November.

Mind Sports Olympiad Cambridge Backgammon Tournament was the next addition,
followed by Backgammon in the Park most summers in Clissold Park.

Backgammon in Camden was set up in September 2005
and rapidly became the most successful Bg Club in London.

This Backgammon in London website is the natural progression.
